G A T H E R I N G S | Christmas Cookies

This is the most wonderful time of the year. Laughing and singing, and jingle bells ringing while the Hanson Brother's Christmas Album plays "Run Run Rudolph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town" breathing in the smells of Christmas from the Thymes Frasier Fur aromatic candle. That might have just been a run-on sentence but hey, I am just so excited typing this I can't even slow down long enough to proof read it, ha!

This class sold out one week after I posted it back in August so the ladies in attendance had been waiting a long time for this evening. And I would say it was well worth the wait! Morgan Hartley of Charmed Cakes did such a wonderful job taking us step-by-step in making the perfect cookies. Giving us her super quick tip on how to make cookie dough that will not run all over the pan after you cut out your figures. And explaining the proper consistency of the batter by allowing us to touch the dough for confirmation. Morgan had thought of everything. Each of us had the cutest decorated box with enough pre-baked cookies to decorate with four bags of different Christmas colored icing. We could hardly control ourselves. I'm embarrassed to tell you that I did not have any cookies left to place in my decorated box.

I ate all of them. Do not judge me. But here is what a box of cookies might have looked like if I would have eaten before class started.

Just saying.

"CHRISTMAS CHEER-LEADER"

Scott Jackson of Colony Wine Market has been one of our biggest cheerleader's this past year. Always willing to supply a bubbly for the ladies to enjoy during each Gatherings. Well Scott, this bubbly got a resounding 5 thumbs up. Not sure if that is even humanly possibly, but hey, the ladies loved it. This wine is slightly sweet and effervescent showing intense notes of cherry, raspberry and delicate floral hints. Pairs well with cured meats, barbecue and fresh berries and cheeses. Ladies, make sure you tell Scott to give you the Gatherings Discount when you stop by to see him at Colony Wine Market located at 121 Colony Crossing Way, Madison.

and the winner is ...

For those of you that took the time to vote after each Gatherings, here is the winning piece of art that will forever hang on my den wall representing the memories of 2018. "One to Another" by Paul Edelstein of Memphis, TN. This piece even looks like a Gatherings to me. I love it! And thanks to Whit Geary of VIEW GALLERY for playing along in this little experiment of mine. Didn't we have so much fun!

From my heart to yours, I pray you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Each time you hear the Christmas carol "O Holy Night" try and envision our Ultimate Holy Knight riding on His white horse coming to rapture His Bride as spoken in Revelation 19.

Blessings to you during this holiday season!

Jill
